What’s buzzing this week? Let Steve Kemble, US Weekly Fashion Police Top Cop, entertainment reporter for the CBS Radio Show – Afternoons with Leigh Ann & Courtney Kerr on KVIL 103.7 www.kvil.com and America’s Sassiest Lifestyle Guru, fill you in on the news everyone’s going to be talking about:
Party Pooper! Queen Elizabeth II passed her great-great-grandmother for having the longest reign in British history at just over 63 years and six months, and she asked that this historic moment be celebrated with no “fuss” or party! She ascended to the throne when she was only 25. Honestly, she is the only Queen I know who does not like a party for any and every occasion!
Taylor Swift has dethroned Kim Kardashian as the person with most Instagram followers! (I am sure this will all change once Kanye is elected President!) Swift now has 45.5 million followers, and Kardashian 45.4. Kim only held the title a few weeks when she surpassed Beyoncé to take over the top spot. Others in the Top 10 include: Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Selena Gomez, Kylie and Kendall Jenner, Nicki Minaj! Follow me @stevekemble.
Tom Brady shot down rumors that his marriage to super model Gisele Bundchen is deflating. Rumors surfaced that he was about to fumble his marriage during the tension of his Deflate gate hearings with the NFL. Tom stated his relationship is “in a great place, and there is no bigger supporter I have than her.” Awwwww!
A British man has been sentenced to four months in jail for calling Emergency Services and pretending to be Nicki Minaj. The man claimed there was a poltergeist in his house! Oh My! It goes without saying they take this very seriously across the pond! Minaj has had no comment on the matter, and that in itself is quite unusual!
My sources are telling me that Super Bowl officials are considering Bruno Mars to once again perform during the Super Bowl halftime show. Super Bowl 50 will take place in Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara on February 7, 2016. Only Katy Perry has gotten more television viewers than Mars in the history of the Super Bowl halftime shows. If selected, Mars would join a very elite group of others who have performed twice including Nelly, Justin Timberlake and Gloria Estefan. As I reported earlier officials were trying to secure Taylor Swift (easily the most popular pop star in the world), but ran into issues with the Super Bowl halftime being sponsored by Pepsi and Swift having an endorsement from Diet Coke.
So thrilled that Vanessa Williams has been ask to be a judge for the upcoming Miss America pageant. Williams crowned in 1993 was forced to resign 10 months into her reign after nude photos appeared in Penthouse magazine. At that time all involved thought she staged a legal battle to keep her crown, it would have been detrimental to her career. She obviously had wise counsel and has had a fabulous career!
