What’s buzzing this week? Let Steve Kemble, US Weekly Fashion Police Top Cop, entertainment reporter for the CBS Radio Show – Afternoons with Leigh Ann & Courtney Kerr on KVIL 103.7 www.kvil.com and America’s Sassiest Lifestyle Guru, fill you in on the news everyone’s going to be talking about:
New BFF Alert! Jennifer Lawrence was out with new BFF Adele for dinner at the Waverly Inn in New York. I suspected the two could have been celebrating the release of Adele’s new chart-topping album and the release of the Hunger Games which stars Lawrence. Both the album and the movie are topping the charts!
Enough about JLaw, let’s talk about JLo! Jennifer Lopez dazzled in an epic 10 minute dance number (that was booty-tastic!, I am on the only one that saw Nicki Minaj throwing shade during the performance?) to the year’s biggest songs to open the American Music Awards. JLo in a myriad of ten different outfits hosted the awards show which featured amazing performances by Selena Gomez, Coldplay, Carrie Underwood, Demi Lovato, One Direction, Nick Jonas, Alanis Morisette, and an emotional Gwen Stefani who sang her new song “Used to Love You”. Other memorable performances included the song “Marvin Gaye”, but it was not the song that had everyone talking, rather the verrrrrrrrry long kiss Meghan Trainor and Charlie Puth decided to display on national television following their performance of the song. Jared Leto whose band had recently performed at the Bataclan Concert Hall where so many lost their lives in the Paris attacks introduced Celine Dion who paid tribute to Paris by singing “Hymne a’ L’Amour”, written by Edith Piaf. There was not a dry eye in the house! Harrison Ford introduced a cappella group Pentatonix who performed the iconic theme to Stars Wars backed by a massive 75 piece orchestra. The nights big winners included Taylor Swift for Song (“Blank Space”) and Album of the Year (1989), Female Artist of the Year Ariana Grande, Male Artist of the Year Ed Sherran and Artist of the Year, One Direction. Justin Bieber closed the show with a melody of three of his new songs and actually sang in the rain!
They’re married! Congratulations to Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello (#bestlookingbrideandgroomever, #jofia) who tied the knot this weekend at the swanky Breakers Resort in Palm Beach. Before 400 family and friends including Reese Witherspoon, Julie Bowen, Ty Burrell, Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer, Ed O’Neil, Paul Reubens, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Channing Tatum and more. The wedding capped a weekend of festivities including a pool party and a rehearsal dinner at Café Boulud which featured cocktail napkins that said “He had me at hola”, and Joe signing a rendition of the Guns N’ Roses hit “Sweet Child of Mine” to his Sofia. The bride looked gorgeous in a custom gown (no veil, but 11 pounds of sequins and 7 pounds of pearls!) by Zuhair Murad Couture in a breathtaking room on overload with orchids, hydrangeas, and roses. And in a surprise appearance, Pit Bull performed as guests danced the night away! In lieu of gifts the couple ask that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital and the Pittsburgh Children’s Hospital.
Royal Recycler, The Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton has done it again! In a speech before the Place2Be Headteacher Conference Kate looked amazing in a previously worn, yet still fabulous dress by Matthew Williamson. I still contend she would look put together and gorgeous in sweat pants…but I am NOT! suggesting she do this!
