What’s buzzing this week? Let Steve Kemble, US Weekly Fashion Police Top Cop, entertainment reporter for the CBS Radio Show – Afternoons with Leigh Ann & Courtney Kerr on KVIL 103.7 www.kvil.com and America’s Sassiest Lifestyle Guru, fill you in on the news everyone’s going to be talking about:
The Bachelorette premiered last night and this year’s Bachelorette JoJo is from Dallas, and yes it is the same JoJo who was rejected at the alter from Bachelor Ben last season! The first night’s episode was dedicated to getting to know the gentlemen vying for JoJo’s love! Here’s a run-down of some of my favorites… one came dressed as a Santa Claus, another listed his profession as Hipster, his parents must be so proud! another came dressed in a kilt, another listed his job as Bachelorette Super Fan to which Jimmy Kimmel said last night, “he must be gay, right?” And then there was… and I am not making this up the gentlemen who’s profession is Erectile Dysfunction Specialist, yet all eyes appear to be on Jordan Rogers, the brother of Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers…you know Olivia Munn’s boyfriend! Jordan also a former professional quarterback played for the Jacksonville Jaguars, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Miami Dolphins!
Justin Bieber basically admitted he threw shade at Pink during her performance at the Billboard Music Awards, saying he would not put on a fake smile just for the camera! When the camera showed Justin in the audience during her performance he looked seemingly unimpressed, pretty much scowling at the camera. Social media of course blew up! Following a performance he lip-sync his way through, Bieber accepted his award for Top Male Artist and said on stage “I am not a talker” and left the stage quickly. After he left the show, Justin took to social media in an epic rant (so it appears he is a “talker” he just saved it for social media!) to unleash on award shows in general claiming they are shallow and everyone pretty much just puts on fake smiles! OUCH!
The big winners at The Billboard Music Awards included- Adele, Justin Bieber, The Weekend and Rhianna.
Britney Spears the Millennium Award Winner opened the show with a tease of her career-spanning array of hits, during which she tore of her clothes and shimmed around the stage!
Kesha made a triumph return to the stage for the first time- since her legal battles with her producer Dr. Luke began -singing the Bob Dylan classic ‘It Ain’t Me Babe’ alongside Ben Folds. The understated performance spoke volumes about her talent and received a standing ovation.
Demi Lovato who recently cancelled her concert with Nick Jonas in North Carolina to protest the state’s anti LBGT bathroom ban continued to speak out in support of trans-gender rights. During her performance of Cool For the Summer she wore a black shirt with a gender inclusive symbol on it depicting a half-man/half woman. #confident.
The Go Go’s returned to the stage singing We Got the Beat! While they were amazing, I would be remiss if I did not say, I am sorry girls but your outfits looked like they were straight up cul-de-sac mom garage band!
Celine Dion in a pure example of raw strength belted out a rousing version of Queen’s ‘The Show Must Go On’ received the Icon Award from her son moving her to tears before giving an emotional speech in which she paid tribute to her husband who she lost earlier this year.
Madonna’s solo in a purple velvet throne and purple paisley suit closed the show with a tribute to her longtime friend Prince singing Nothing Compares 2 U alongside somber footage, she was later joined by Stevie Wonder for Purple Rain.
In Kardashian news, Kris Jenner is now claiming she may change her name back to Kardashian stating, “If Caitlyn can change her name so can I!” Ok, Kris!
