What’s buzzing this week? Let Steve Kemble, US Weekly Fashion Police Top Cop and America’s Sassiest Lifestyle Guru, fill you in on the news everyone’s going to be talking about:
Melissa McCarthy is returning to Saturday Night Live on May 13th and millions are expected to tune in. I suspect that millions might not include White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer! McCarthy has confirmed she will reprise her hilarious impression of Spicer. She admits she has been watching his “must-see” daily press briefings and jotting down notes! Personally, I cannot wait!!!
Ellen DeGeneres revealed a bandaged dislocated finger in a splint on her show this week. DeGeneres was more than honest about exactly how it happened. She started her monolog by saying, “I know many of you are probably thinking, how can someone host a show without the tip of their ring finger?” She stated she and Portia were returning from a dinner party where she had two glasses of wine. She said their dogs were so excited to see them when they got home, that when she went up the steps into the house, her foot got hung up on the lip of the top step and her finger jammed into the door! OUCH! Portia drove her to the emergency room at UCLA, where she was treated and released. Much like her on her daily show, Ellen finished the story with a positive ending “no matter how bad you think you have it, someone always has it worse”.
RuPaul, host, supermodel, singer and the star of RuPaul’s Drag Race has another show coming! RuPaul, of course, was one of the first to break into reality TV with his gender-bending competition series show. RuPaul has teamed up with two production companies for what is said to be a 30-minute show based on his life in the 1980’s in New York where RuPaul was very much a prominent fixture in the club and drag scene. Gary Lennon, a writer, and producer for “Power” and “Orange is the New Black”, and the production company owned by mega-producer J.J. Abrams are all involved. My sources are telling me Warner Bros. Television is also involved. The show’s title has yet to be announced.
Richard Simmons friends and family are blasting the most popular podcast in America for creating false speculation about Simmons. A former student of Simmons and former producer of The Daily Show created the podcast “Missing Richard Simmons” which aired its last episode this week. The podcast covered the mystery of where exactly Simmons is, who has not been seen in public since February of 2014. Additionally, he has stopped all communication with former students and friends. The last he was heard from was in March 2016, when he called into Entertainment Tonight, stating he was ok. He went on to say “it’s time right now for Richard Simmons to take care of Richard Simmons”. The podcast covered the most popular theories about why Simmons has not been seen including that he is transitioning to be a woman, and his housekeeper is holding him hostage.
